Dispersion of light
Location: Moscow, Russia
Designed and executed in 2015-2016
Scope: interior design + construction administration
1700 sq.ft
Inspiration for this project was given by the golden vinyl disk of Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon, which the client had. The main shape in the interior became a prism, because the cover of the album shows how white light separates into a color spectrum by a prism - which is called dispersion of light. The same idea we put into the interior color palette: common spaces (living room and kitchen) are neutral and all private areas are colorful. So you can find each color of the rainbow in this apartment. Either the gold from vinyl flowed through in furniture and brass details.
The style of furniture is inspired by the 70's - as the album was presented in 1973. We designed and executed 17 bespoke furniture pieces including the main living room sofa, armchairs, consoles, tables and built-ins.
This project was honored to be published in Architectural Digest and ELLE Decoration.
